Weekly Update for 1st Period Adobe Visual Design for September 11
This week: We have continued our dive into the Intro to Illustrator unit this week, and the class is doing very well with the lessons and activities and seem to be enjoying learning how to use the software. We worked on new basic tools of Adobe Illustrator, basic shapes and lines, the align panel, the pathfinder panel, gradients, and worked on the type tool today. Due: Week 4 Quiz is due Monday before class Due: Votes & Vocab: 2.04 Creating Graphics in Illustrator is due Monday before class Due: Type Tool Illustrator Worksheet is due today Coming up next week: Next week we will finish up the Intro to Illustrator Unit working on Image Tracing and how to use Layers. We will continue to use a the worksheets that open in Adobe Illustrator along with step by step directions from me live in class, and then later they have written directions and a video of me completing the worksheet(s) that they can view as many times as they need to. I have started to ask the class to watch the videos before we start class so we are able to get more done together. We will explore more about drawing in Illustrator, how to use colors and swatches, cover some notes about Illustrator, and finish with a fun activity to recolor a drawing I will give them to adjust. Grades and PowerSchool Grades are continuing to be added regularly, but grades are starting to take me longer to finish as the work is becoming more feedback driven, I am leaving more and move voice notes to the students to help them. Hope these are helping!! If students have missing work you and they will see a 0 and a orange Missing indicator. I am reminding them about due dates every day in class but strongly suggest students check the Google Classroom Calendar as well to help keep track of due. If your student is struggling with how to get files turned in, please let me know so I can help. Other symbols you may see is a blue dot for incomplete, a green dot if they were absent, and a red dot if the assignment was submitted late. Parent Site: www.scaleswhs.weebly.com for more! Communication: Please feel free to join our Remind group to see the same updates the students are getting! Text @AdvStScale to 81010.
